The Sony A6400 and the Tamron 150-600 G2 For Wildlife (looks silly but it works!)

This weeks Youtube Video is now live. After the success of using the Sony A6400 and Tamron 150-600 last week in a hide situation, this week I use it as a walk around rig. So, less control over where and when the wildlife will appear. I have to admit it does feel like you left the camera at home and are just walking around with a lens (it's so tiny!). Anyway this video also gives you some tips on how to use any wildlife setup to improve your chances of a good shot. As always like and Subscribe if you haven't.

Wild Bird Photography with the Sony A6400 and Tamron 150-600 G2

This weeks video is now live on Youtube. This week I use my Sony A6400 (a very tiny mirrorless camera) with the Tamron 150-600 G2 (a very big lens) for some wild bird photography at one of my new winter feeding stations. A bit of a review of how it worked and hopefully some encouraging signs of good images in the months to come. As always like the video if you did and subscribe if you haven't. See you next week!

Photographing the Red Deer Rut - Big Moor Peak District, England

This weeks video is now up on Youtube. This week I go in search of red deer on Big Moor which believe it or not is just a few miles to the west of Sheffield. On a blustery day I also encounter the type of photographer who gives wildlife photographers a bad name. I had to do a lot of editing as I think you can tell with my voice I wasn't happy!! Anyway, enjoy the video and if you haven't yet subscribed please subscribe to the channel. A give away is on it's way when the channel reaches 1000! See you next week!

Photographing Scottish Dippers

Ok, for a photographer family holidays can be quite challenging! You know the sort of thing, you got to a beautiful place packed with wildlife and wonderful landscapes and if you had your way you’d disappear for eight hours at a time into the hills and mountains. It can be difficult to remember this is a family holiday right?

I am often faced with this situation and over the years I have learnt to compromise and still manage to get some photography done as well as keeping everyone else happy. In this video I quickly scout out the area and decide what’s attainable in the time available and head off to shoot dippers. This wonderful little bird only two hundred metres from the cottage. As always please like and subscribe!

Tamron 150-600 G2 A Review NOT a Review!

My latest video is now live on Youtube. This week I make a pathetic attempt to review my Tamron 150-600 G2. Its probably the worst review you will ever see not because I can't talk about the lens but because I honestly find the technical stuff extremely tedious! If you are considering a new lens I think the last point I make in this video is by far the most important so pay attention for that. However, there is perhaps my favourite ever Roe Deer fawn image in here so stay tuned for that! As always like and subscribe!

Photographing Little Owls

My new video is now live on YouTube. This week I show you my setup for photographing little owls as I try to get a shot I have had in my mind for a while. Unfortunately this week it doesn't come off largely due to the fact that I was so late to this site this year due to the Corona virus. I think it's important to show you these failures as there are many of them and some photographers can give the impression they have some sort of special skill that enables them to turn out stunning images at will. As far as I am aware this doesn't exist and it comes down to loads of hard work and research with just a little bit of luck thrown in! Anyway I hope you enjoy the video and you should get something out of it. As always please subscribe if you haven't, it really does help! Until next week👍
