Pisaura mirabilis Spider

Pisaura mirabilis Spider - Macro

This type of spider hunts on the ground or low vegetation. This female, carrying her egg sack, was found in our back garden, proving that you don't have to travel miles to see wonderful creatures. In fact there are hundreds of these so called mini-beasts in your own back garden. I caught this one in a simple trap (a yoghurt pot sunk into the ground) after a few pictures she was sent safely on her way.
