An as yet Unidentified Fly Species!

An as yet Unidentified Fly Species! - Macro

I took this image on the 6th May, it is a fly found in a sandy heathland environment and measured under 10mm in length. It has many of the features of a robber fly that do inhabit this site later in the summer. This was reluctant to fly off which makes me think it may be newly emerged hence the colour. I would be grateful for any suggestions. Contact me via the website. Thanks!
